What Is a Stage 1 Remapping?

Optimised Software, Real-World Gains

A Stage 1 remap modifies the software stored in your vehicle's ECU. Parameters including fuel injection timing, boost pressure, ignition advance and rev limiters are carefully recalibrated to release performance that was always built into the engine but deliberately restricted at the factory.

No hardware changes are required. The entire process takes place via the OBD diagnostic port or, where required, by direct access to the ECU. Work is carried out at your location and typically takes between one and two hours.

Vehicle Health Check

Before any work begins, we read the ECU and check for any existing faults that could affect the remap.

ECU Read

The existing calibration is read from your ECU and sent to our software partner, ByteFLASH, for analysis and modification.

ECU Write

The modified calibration is written back to your ECU and verified to ensure everything is correct before we proceed.

Road Test and Handover

The vehicle is tested to confirm everything is running perfectly and the results are explained to you.
